HotelBrain: Helping the deaf to access the labor market

The largest hotel group in Greece HotelBrain, in the context of the Corporate Social Responsibility programs, in cooperation with the NGO “Collective of Help of Our People in Petersburg” and the support of Federation of the Deaf of Greece, intends to offer jobs to the members of the deaf/hard of hearing community in selected specialties in its hotels and in fact to cover 28 positions in hotels in Rhodes, Kos and Evia while there will be future opening of more jobs in other destinations of the Group in GREECE.

At the same time, the HotelBrain Academy, a member of the HotelBrain Group, in the context of providing high-level seminars with the aim of forming successful and sought-after professionals in the tourism industry, supports this action in practice by enriching its programs, since the beginning of its operation, with special monitoring sections for members of the deaf/hard of hearing community where 15 members of the deaf community already participate.

The above initiatives were “sealed” at the meeting held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at the premises of Hotel Brain Academy, of the Vice President Mr. Konstantinos Zikos and the General Manager of the HotelBrain Group Mr. Dimitris Fragostefanakis with the President Mr. Konstantinos Simpsi and Vice President Mr. Panagiotis Kordonouris of the Deaf Federation of Greece and Mr. Kostas Kampetsis Actions and Public Relations Manager of AMKE “Collectiveness of Helping Our Fellow People” In Petersburg”.

The Vice President of the HotelBrain Group Mr. Konstantinos Zikos said “It is our great pleasure and honor to cooperate with the AMKE “Collectiveness of Helping Our Fellow People in Petroupoli” and the Deaf Federation of Greece, who trusted us in this initiative. We hope that fertile ground will be created to develop our cooperation further in the future in order to have mutual benefits in order to ensure the unhindered access of deaf and hard of hearing people, equally and without discrimination, in the world of work in our hotel Group.”

The Vice-President of the Federation of the Deaf of Greece, Mr. Panagiotis Kordonouris, added “We would like to congratulate the members of the deaf/hard of hearing community who eagerly and enthusiastically participate in its programs HotelBrain Academy and we hope that this initiative will inspire other companies to give equal opportunities for professional rehabilitation to everyone without discrimination”
